Denis LANEL

Denis Lanel is a self-taught French artist living in Brussels. Nurtured by his love for art and design since childhood, when he would spend the Summer at the Cité Radieuse with his grandparents, he rediscovered his passion for craftsmanship and sculpture after a long career in marketing. At the intersection of design, craftsmanship, and his attraction to wood as a living material, he embarked on an adventure in search of a language that would allow him to share, both conceptually and sensually, his reflections on connection and finitude.
Inspired by the legacy of modernist geometric abstraction, he uses forms as a means of expression, rejecting the idea of a closed system and opening up his work to a relational, narrative and organic dimension.
